Terms of Use for Capstone Ready
Effective date: 7 August 2026
These terms set out the rules for using Capstone Ready, the Sparky's Ready family apps, portals, training records, approvals, signatures, PDFs, subscriptions and account access.
Acceptance and updates
Roper Digital Group operates Capstone Ready as part of the Sparky's Ready family. These Terms of Use apply when you access or use Capstone Ready, Sparky's Ready, AM2 Ready, Journeyman Ready, Red Seal Ready, EWRB Ready, SOLAS Ready, Sparky Pro, the Admin Portal, the Learn Portal, the RTO Portal, public websites, support pages and related services. By creating an account, signing in, browsing, submitting records, approving records, sending messages or using a portal, you agree to these Terms. We may update these Terms when the service, law, App Store requirements, pricing, security controls or business processes change. The latest version published on our website applies from the effective date shown.
Licence and permitted use
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the app and portals for genuine electrical training, profiling, learning, supervision, assessment, employer administration, RTO administration or related business use. You must not copy, resell, sublicence, scrape, frame, reverse engineer or commercially exploit the service except as expressly allowed in writing or by law.
Accounts, devices and authority
- You are responsible for keeping your account, Apple ID, device, trusted-device keys, portal session and credentials secure.
- You must provide accurate account, role, organisation, apprentice, employer, supervisor, assessor, teacher and RTO information, and keep it up to date.
- You must only approve QR trusted-device pairing, organisation access, portal access, push notification routing or team membership for people and devices you control or are authorised to manage.
- You must tell us promptly if you believe your account, trusted device, portal access or organisation access has been compromised.
- We may suspend, revoke or restrict access if we reasonably believe an account, device, portal login, organisation membership or workflow is unsafe, unauthorised, inaccurate, inactive, unpaid, unlawful or being misused.
Roles and organisation responsibilities
- Apprentices and learners are responsible for entering accurate work, evidence, training and contact information.
- Employers, supervisors, managers, approvers, assessors, teachers and RTO users are responsible for reviewing records carefully before approving, rejecting, amending, uploading, exporting or relying on them.
- Organisations are responsible for deciding who may access their team, learner, employer, RTO, archive, billing and portal records.
- If you use the service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind or administer that organisation for the relevant workflow.
- Employers, schools, RTOs and other organisations remain responsible for their own workplace, learner, guardian, privacy, safety, training, regulator and record-keeping obligations.
Training evidence, approvals and signatures
- The service helps organise profiling cards, evidence, learning progress, signatures, messages, audit trails, PDFs and portal records. It does not replace a regulator, licensing authority, assessment centre, RTO, employer, school or legal decision.
- You must review cards, evidence, PDFs, signatures and approval decisions before submitting or approving them.
- A signature, approval, rejection, send-back, message, upload or portal action made from your signed-in account may be treated as your action.
- Approved cards, generated PDFs, audit events and portal records may be treated as important training evidence. Where enabled, approved records may be uploaded to an authorised admin or RTO portal.
- We may preserve approved records, audit trails, signatures, metadata and linked files where needed for evidence integrity, compliance, dispute handling, subscription administration or lawful business records.
Content you upload or send
- You keep ownership of evidence, messages, photos, videos, documents, signatures, notes and other content you provide.
- You grant us permission to host, process, copy, display, transmit, back up, secure, generate PDFs from, upload to authorised portals and retain that content as needed to operate the service and enforce these Terms.
- You must only upload or send content you have the right to use and share with the relevant apprentice, employer, supervisor, assessor, teacher, RTO, organisation or portal user.
- You must not upload unlawful, misleading, unsafe, defamatory, confidential, infringing, abusive, discriminatory, harassing or malicious content.
- We may remove, restrict or preserve content where reasonably needed for security, support, legal compliance, audit integrity, dispute handling or service operation.
Acceptable use
- Do not access another person's or organisation's records without authority.
- Do not bypass role controls, QR pairing controls, trusted-device checks, payment gates, audit controls, notification routing or portal access rules.
- Do not impersonate another person or organisation, falsify training records, misuse ABNs or submit evidence you know is inaccurate.
- Do not interfere with the app, portals, Supabase, APNs, Apple services, Bluehost hosting, payment services, support systems or other infrastructure.
- Do not introduce malware, attempt unauthorised security testing, harvest data, spam users, harass people, or use the service for unlawful or unsafe activity.
Learning content and guidance
The service may include learning content, practice questions, readiness indicators, reminders, package-watch information and workflow suggestions. This content is for practical organisation and learning support only. It is not legal, regulatory, licensing, safety, employment, financial, tax or professional advice, and it does not guarantee an assessment outcome, licence, qualification, employment result or regulator decision.
Messages and notifications
Internal messages and push notifications are provided to support team workflows, approvals, pairing, returned cards and account events. Notification delivery can depend on Apple, APNs, device settings, network access and backend availability. You should still check the in-app notification centre and relevant workflow screens for important records.
Subscriptions, payments and portals
- Some app, archive, admin, RTO, learning, employer or organisation features may require approval, subscription, payment, trial status or an active entitlement.
- Payment, subscription, renewal, refund and cancellation terms shown in the App Store, app, portal, invoice, payment provider or written agreement apply in addition to these Terms.
- Unless a separate written agreement says otherwise, unpaid, expired, suspended, revoked or trial-ended access may limit portal visibility, uploads, downloads, archive access, organisation features or support.
- You must not use portal billing, invoices, payment references or access approvals fraudulently or for an organisation you are not authorised to represent.
Privacy and account deletion
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain and delete personal information. You must not upload another person's information unless you have authority to do so. The app includes an account deletion path, but approved evidence, generated PDFs, signatures, audit records, billing records and other legally or operationally required records may be retained as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Apple App Store terms
- These Terms are between you and Roper Digital Group, not Apple.
- Apple is not responsible for the app, content, maintenance, support, claims, user content, product claims or third-party intellectual property claims.
- Your use of the iOS app must also comply with the Apple Media Services Terms, App Store rules and any Apple standard or custom EULA terms that apply through App Store distribution.
- Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of the Apple-related parts of these Terms and may enforce those parts where applicable.
Third-party services and links
The service may depend on or link to third-party services such as Apple, Supabase, APNs, Sentry, Bluehost, payment providers, email providers, government or training information sources and external websites. Third-party services may have their own terms, privacy policies, outages and limits. We are not responsible for third-party content, decisions or services except to the extent required by law.
Service availability and changes
We aim to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, permanent feature availability or that every push notification, upload, sync, export or portal action will complete at a particular time. We may update, add, remove, suspend or change features, security controls, portal flows, pricing, legal terms, support processes and content. We will take reasonable care with production changes, but the service may be affected by maintenance, outages, third-party providers, device settings, network conditions or security incidents.
Intellectual property and trade marks
Sparky's Ready, Capstone Ready, related names, icons, logos, designs, workflows, source code, generated templates, portal content, learning content and software are owned by or licensed to us. You may not use our trade marks, branding, screenshots, content or software except as allowed by the app, these Terms, App Store rules or written permission.
Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may start account deletion from inside the app where available. We may suspend, restrict or terminate access where reasonably needed for security, unpaid access, misuse, breach of these Terms, legal compliance, support, platform integrity, user safety or protection of training records. Terms about intellectual property, privacy, evidence retention, payment obligations, liability, indemnity and dispute handling continue after access ends where relevant.
Consumer law, disclaimers and liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies rights, remedies, guarantees or warranties that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. To the extent allowed by law, the service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. We are not responsible for indirect loss, lost profits, lost opportunity, failed assessments, licensing decisions, regulator/RTO decisions, employment decisions, user-entered errors or loss caused by unauthorised use of your account. Where we are permitted to limit liability for a service, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having the service supplied again.
Your responsibility for breach
To the extent allowed by law, you are responsible for loss, cost, claim or damage we reasonably suffer because you breach these Terms, upload unlawful or infringing content, misuse the service, access records without authority, impersonate another person or organisation, or act beyond the authority given to you by an employer, RTO, school or organisation.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You and Roper Digital Group submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland and the Commonwealth of Australia. If you access the service outside Australia, you are responsible for complying with local laws that apply to you.
Severability
If part of these Terms is invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that part is read down or removed to the extent needed and the rest of the Terms continue.
